Title: access denied on attached USB Disk
Post by: lloving on December 02, 2008, 12:32:35 PM
I get "Access Denied" when trying to copy a file to the attached USB disk on Terra Station Pro. I am logged in as domain administrator and administrator has read/write access to the USB disk.

Did you format the disk to EXT3 or XFS through the Terrastation? If not, then the drive would have read-only permissions on it.

If the external drive is formatted either XFS of EXT3 then it cannot be read by a Windows machine.  Is there any way to have the drive writable via the TeraStation and then be able to be read by either a Windows server or workstation?

There are third party software that can help manage the NTFS to XFS support, but your best bet is to install Linux on a machine and just mount the drive.
