Title: 2008 Server access problems Terastation Pro II
Post by: Mordan on June 02, 2010, 05:50:49 PM

Firmware 1.33

AD domain is Windows 2003 functional level, TPII is setup as workgroup. using 'delegate to external', Use Windows Domain controler, Authenticate user Reg.

Issue, on 2008 server it is asking for username password, on 2003 server it is not - both are in the same domain.

What needs to be done so that no login is required? The system is behind a firewall and not on the internet.

Steps I've tried,

edit the registry, changed the ntlm compatiblity from 3 to 2. It is 2 on windows 2003 server so worth a shot.

Create local user, then convert to external - same error. The terastation is not accepting the domain password or the one entered when I created the account.

From a Win 2003 server It is not asking for login info - it allows access.

Ideally I'd like it to be part of the domain but I didn't see any way to add domain users to file permissions and after adding to the domain I could not login and for whatever reason ftp is disabled and I don't want to hack the box to get that working with AD.

The domain is rather small, < 10 users

Any ideas on getting a 2008 server to access the shares without needing to login?

thanks

On the 2008 you need to check your Security Policy's and set them as the same as the 2003 server.
