Title: HD-PF250U2 Not Detectable
Post by: studentsphere on June 02, 2010, 11:54:44 AM

I purchased a BUFFALO HD-PF250U2 last week.

It was working fine initially.

During data transfer process, the harddisk got infected with a virus.

So I decided to format it using the Formatting software provided in the harddisk utilitites proivded by Buffalo.

Since formatting, the  hard disk only appears in the Device Manager but it isn't detectable in "My Computer"

Hence, at the moment I can't use the harddisk.

I hope someone can adivse me  how to rectify this problem ASAP.

if the device is detectable in dev mgr, it should be visible in the disk mgt as well just delete the partition on reformat the drive

Well it's appearing in the device manager as "SAMSUNG HM250HI USB Device"

And in the "Devices And Printers" Section of the Control Panel of Windows 7 it's appearing as "BUFFALO INC. USB-SATA Bridge"

It's still not detectable nor visible in "My Computer".

So how can I "just delete the partition or reformat the drive" ?

Please suggest me some other workable atlernative to fix this problem.

Go to disk management and right click on the drive and see if it gives you the option to initilize.  If not delete the partition and reformat the unit.
