Hi,
I have an hs-dhtgl (4tb)
fw 2.14
As of last night it will not boot.
Most of the time it loads the kernel, but not every time.
After loading the kernel it hangs at "Loading system", or even a completely blank display.
I have tried:
normal boot
normal boot with each drive taken out in sequence
em boot
em boot with each drive taken out in sequence
em boot with all drives out (TFTP boot) With no drives the EM TFTP boot works fine, so i know my network and tftp server is good.
I am unable to get a tftp boot with any drives in the chassis.
My question is this.
How can I force a TFTP boot with the drives in there?
With the TFTP boot have you tried the self extracting file that we offer? http://forums.buffalotech.com/t5/Storage/FAQ-3-of-4-TFTP-boot-procedure-please-read-this/td-p/11015 this should transfer a series of "blocks" that help the unit recognize firmware when updating to the firmware to help remedy this issue.
Hi,
Yes I am using your TFTP server and firmware bundle. ( was following the steps in the thread you link)
I have only been able to get the unit to connect to the TFTP server with all of the drives removed, which is of no use.
Jeff
When the TFTP program has started try pushing in the reset button and letting go. It should send out TFTP request from there. Try that with all drives in.
