Title: Fail with updating firmware LS-XHL
Post by: jfderuiter on May 28, 2010, 08:33:36 AM

Gents,

Buffalo LS-XHL, Windows 7

I can't install the firmware 1.24.

It stays in EM-mode. When I run the updater, it gives me this text:

Could not confirm whether the partition exists.

Cannot update the firmware.

Firmware updating is aborted.

He finds the linkstation, but can't install the firmware...?

The NASNavigator finds my linkstation. It shows a yellow ''?'' at the hostname-icon.

For now I've connected the linkstation directly to my computer. (TFTP boot is done)

I can't acces my linkstation now, but there is no more data on de disks.

Let me know if you can help me out!

If it cannot find a partition it means that the MBR has been corrupted or the disk has an error.  All that could be done is a force update http://forums.buffalotech.com/t5/Storage/FAQ-2-of-4-Force-Firmware-update-procedure-please-read-this/td-p/11011  and selecting the option to rebuild the partition table.  Please be aware that doing this will result in loss of data
