Title: LinkStation Live LS-CH1 cannot be installed on Vista
Post by: markda2000 on May 25, 2010, 10:04:07 AM

I am getting  a little fruustrated at not being able to install the Drive. The installtion process works fine until the point where it trys to loacta the Linkstation and returns an error that it cannot be found. It does howerver show up when I access the web page of the router from the computer so it is physically being seen.

Any help would be apppreciated.

Thanks

Well, I have had a similar experience. I have a thread further down that has not received any more responses after an initial recommendation of something to try.  I was able to access it with an XP machine on the network. But it does not work with the Vista machine so far.  There are a couple of  standard things to try which I have listed in my post. Maybe one of them will work for you.

Good luck.

From our website downloads section there is a product labelled as "Linkstation Gigabi"  there is a download in there for a Vista Fix to be able to access the unit accross the network.  This will be an option, otherwise there is the NTLM settings within windows local security policy that can be updated
