Title: Brand new LS-WXL fails to start (6 red flashes)
Post by: Jonw on May 22, 2010, 04:00:15 PM

Hi

I have a brand new 2Tb Linkstation Duo LS-WXL which won't start up.

When i power it on, the power light flashes blue for about 10secs and the drives spin up and then the error light starts flashing red, 6 flashes at a time.

None of the Buffalo software i have will detect the unit and i can't ping it either (after changing my IP to the 192.168.11 subnet). I have tried forced firmware update (can't find linkstation) and TFTP boot procedure (sits at "accepting requests") as described on this forum.

Is the unit DOA or is there something else i can try?

Thanks

Jon

I spoke to Buffalo support and they confirmed that this error requires the unit to be replaced.
