Title: Installing Firmware
Post by: lsabo on May 03, 2010, 05:45:23 PM

Terastation III - TSX20TLR5

Current Firmware 1.20

I've never installed fw on a Terastation.  I am having problems with connecting to the active directory and one of the 'to do's' is to make sure the fw is updated.  It looks like the latest & greatest is 1.30.  Right at the moment, the TS is on the network and I access it via IP address.  I am wondering how I should be connected to it to install the fw update?

I flashed a TS-1.0TGL/R5 today and it was very straight forward. I just downloaded and started the updater, It searched for and found the drive. Then flashed it, everything was automatic.
It has to be on the same networkrange when you flash.
When I started the NAS it had a 192.167 adress while the PC I flashed from was in 192.168 range, It found the drive just fine, but wouldn't flash. So I changed the IP of the nas to a 192.168 adress and it flashed just fine.

I see there is a read me before updating to 1.30 firmware on your model. I can't get the file or the firmware to your NAS as I have to type in a serial to get it. But I guess it's pretty straight forward on your model too.
