Title: LS-XHL Web Admin: Current Session has Expired .. Please sign in again
Post by: grahamashley on April 30, 2010, 11:25:21 AM

Have just bought this LS-XHL because your pre-sales guys said the LinkStation Pro would support my Sony Bravia TV.  I upgraded from original firmware to 1.24; then today saw there was a 1.26 with reference to Sony Bravia support, which is why I bought the box!!  The upgrade to 1.26 failed many times (I think because of network timeouts).  In the end I thought it had worked, but I can't be sure.

NASNavigator2 says firmware is 1.26

I can see my files on the device by clicking the desktop icon

But my Sony Bravia can not 'see' any Music files on the device - it can 'see' some photos

When I try to go into Web Admin, I get the "Current Session has Expired.  Please sign in again " message.

I have tried the Factory Reset and then admin/password for logon credentials, but still expired message.

Help please

GRAHAM

Do remedy the problem with the expiring of the web admin page for the linkstation I would suggest trying to force the fimrware. http://forums.buffalotech.com/t5/Storage/FAQ-2-of-4-Force-Firmware-update-procedure-please-read-this/td-p/11011.  This will wipe out the firmware on there and place a fresh copy on, it will not impact data currently on the drive

OK I have now got back into my LinkStation Pro with WebAdmin.  But my other problem with the Sony Bravia KDL40Z4500 is still there.  From the TV I can see the LinkStation as a server; I can view Photos but the LinkStation does not appear on the list of servers for Music.

On my network there is a Desktop PC running XP/Windows Media Player 11.  I can see this on the TV and play Music from it.

I conclude that there can be no firewall/network issues, so this must be a LinkStation problem, I think.

Also to repeat, I bought this LinkStation Pro because the Buffalo Pre-sales team recommended the product as having a patch to allow the Sony Bravia to work with Music.

Thanks .. GRAHAM
