I have HS-DH500GL with the latest firmware that fixed PS3 playback. I'm using it as a media server and storage. I have a Seagate freeagent 700gb. USB drive hooked up to it. After repeated attempts of getting it to work with a windows file system, I decide to reformat to the recommended XFS. I was happy, I can actually use the drive, with read/write permissions. (which I couldn't get with NTFS before). So I copied a bunch of stuff over to it.
So I get home from work, log on and THE DRIVE IS BLANK!!!! ALL FILES ARE GONE!!!! :manmad: I log into the linkstation web interface, and it's showing 24gigs used, but I can see the files!
Suggestions??
I am so far not too impressed with Buffalo NAS storage, it seems highly unreliable.
I would try resetting the linkstation but if the files dont return it is possible that you experience file corruption. Do you shut down the LS before removing the drive?
