Post by: bechau on April 26, 2010, 12:37:42 PM

Set-up:

- PC with gigabit port

- SMC gigabit switch

- CAT6 cable

Result: Max 10 MB/s writing

Anyway to improve this?

From what you listed your gear seems fine, but you may want to check some of the connections?  are there any bottle necks within your connection?  how is the UPnP configured?  Did you set the frame size to large on the linkstation that it is not compatable with your router/NIC adapter?  The only reason for an improper speed like this is settings or connections, also the RJ45 jack on your computer is is transmitting a 10/100/1000 or just 10/100?

Hi AngelsAbyss,

First, I would like to know if you have ever achieved greater than 10MB/s writing speed on the NAS?  Some people said it couldn't be done :(

To follow up on your reply:

- UPnP is not enabled.  Should it?

- Frame size were left as normal (default).  No jumbo frame selected

- RJ45 on my PC is 10/100/1000

Looking forward to your advice.
