This is a terastation III TS-X2.OTL/R5 , 1 day old unit.
I've already configured it to join to my AD, as you can see in the screenshots below, it can select and add users to the access list.
I've granted both administrator user, domain admin group, administrators group rights to access the folder in question, however, I cannot copy or create anything in that folder at all.
likewise, for users, I've created user folders granting that user permissions to access, but they too cannot access the folder to create. they only get access is denied.
Why is this?

just to add, I noticed that the domain users and domain groups permission list, it can be scrolled all the way to the right, there i notice the permission granted is READ ONLY. I do not see any way to change it to WRITE.

OK, I've changed the webbrowse from chrome to IE8. then the permissions window has much narrower columns, the READ permissions becomes a drop down listbox where i can select read/write
