Title: LSCH1.0T Slow web interface
Post by: m0nkeymafia on April 21, 2010, 12:17:25 PM

Hi

I have a linkstation LS-CH1.0T

I have noticed the web interface is extremely slow at the minute, particularily the bit torrent extension.

This occurs when no torrents are active or listed.

I have tried rebooting the device too, can anyone help?

Title: Slow web interface in LS-WX2.0TL/R1 2TB as well

Same issue with LS-WX2.0TL/R1 2TB - LinkStation™ Duo - 20+ seconds to update a screen in the web interface.  You click, then have time to drink a pop before the unit responds.  This is with NO ACCESS to files, and no torrents, no web interface or FTP servers turned on - just sitting there doing nothing.  Upgraded the firmware to 1.26 from the 1.24, and not it is even SLOOOOWER.

Tried SeaMonkey (win) 2.04 and IE8; looked the source code and it has a whole bunch of checks for IE6. Told SeaMonkey to pretend it is IE6, and the interface became much faster (2-5 seconds response time), but it no longer displyed correctly on screen - I had the buttons I wanted to click covered by the windows.

Also have 3 other Buffalo NAS boxes (Linstation Pro Duo LS-W1.0TGL-R1, Linkstation Live Network Attached Storage LS-CH1.0TL-R, and an old Linkstation HD-120LAN) and all respond in less then 1/2 second to a click.

Anybody any ideas what to do to speed up the web interface?  Is there a browser which works half way decent or do I need to sell this POS and get a LS-W2.0TGL-R1 which may be slower in file transfer speed but at least has a usable web interface?

I started a thread about the slow webinterface too. But there are no answers from a Mod until now.

What I recognized is that the FW 1.24 is a tick faster than the 1.26, but there is no "log off" possibility in FW 1.24 (if you don't clear all cookies and cache after a session).

Any solution like: turn off that and that would be great.
