Title: HS-DHGL LINKSTATION LIVE, I went to update the firmware but did it over the wireless network
Post by: davjet on April 20, 2010, 11:01:08 PM

I realise now it should have been plugged in but some of the update happened but not all.

Please help, always meant to back up everything on my linkstation but didn't. I am a dead man if this is all gone. Appreciate any help. I am using windows 7. Not an expert and would need a bit more than just saying change the ip address. PLEASE HELP!

Whats the model number of the Linkstation and its current firmware, what info is in the nas navigator? Any red error lights on the unit?

The model is HS-DH500GL, not sure of the firmware, either 2.10 or 2.11. Just noticed when looking I had been trying to update to an american firmware which was highter than this at the time, did not look properly at the time 2.21.

In the nas navi it shows HS-DHGL-EMA34 with a yellow circle with a question mark in it. When you hover over it, it says:

The EM mode was detected. Update firmware or contact your local technical support. No red lights on the unit.

I have tried to update the firmware to differant versions even but no luck.

Thanks for any help.

I did a forced firmware update and was happy when it seemed to be working but then I had the error, can't remember exactly but it was something to do with a fault and when you you hovered over it, it said the firmware was full. How do I remove to do do it again. As I said seen something, looked a bit more complicated and mentioned could go wrong. Holding out for a HERO.

Thanks in advance for any help.

At the moment when turned on the red led flashes 6 times and does for awhile, then later it flashes 4 times, whats this?

Can you find the unit on your network?  If its in EM mode then try the 2nd FAQ force firmware.  If you cannot find it on your network then you need to try the TFTP boot.
