Title: Bittorrent Issues on LS-WXLF41
Post by: Sebby on April 14, 2010, 09:32:01 AM

Hi all!

It would appear that the bittorrent client that comes pre-installed out of the box leaves a lot to be desired. And like the others who have bought a NAS station, some have been rather disappointed with the results they have been getting.

My issues with the BT installed:

  1. Slow speeds recorded.
  2. Private trackers don't seem to like it.
I really hope to get this resolved, cos that's why I bought the NAS in the first place: so that my laptop doesn't have to.
Based on my research on these forums, it would appear that the Buffalo techs are working on a patch that resolves the issues, but the ETA on that is still unclear.
So my question is: Has anyone managed to install a different BT software on their Buffalo stations?

Installation of another BT client means that the firmware would have to be modified.  Modifying the firmware is a direct violation of warranty policy therefore voiding it.  However, you are correct that we are working to fix the problem and as this issue is beginning to become a bit pressing I will attempt to address it with some of my associates.  My sincerest thanks for your patience in this matter.
