Hello all, I have been searching quite a bit, but I haven't found a thread on this drive, I've found similar questions, but not sure if the same applies to my situation, and this drive is quite new I think so googling turns up few results.
Running DriveNavi.exe to set up the hard drive, I try to format the drive to NTFS, I click yes, I get an error "No drive is available for format" then it carries on saying formatting, then it says format complete. But I've gone to my computer, and it's still FAT32! I've disconnected and re-connected the drive, still FAT32.
Seconds issue is that I can't enable TurboUSB. I run DriveNavi.exe to install turbousb, it installed fine, however I click on enable, and it tells me to disconnect safely etc. But I can't disconnect safely because the DriveNavi.exe is running from the drive. So I then open up turbousb from the start menu, press enable again, this time I can safely disconnect, re-connect the drive, it comes up, but nothing happens. Is there a way to check turboUSB is running?
I do apologise if these questions are answered elsewhere, but never before have I been stumped by an external hard drive install before. I know I can use windows to format to NTFS, but am afraid that the software won't work no more.
Any help would be immensley appreciated
Copy the software off the DS to your PC and then delete and recreate the partition in disk management. If you need to know how to do this then let me know what version of windows you are using :-)
Hi, I went into disk management, right clicked, delete volume, the clicked on new simple volume, NTFS, left settings at default, gave it a name and it's all done! Now marked as NTFS in my computer. Thanks davo!
Though I am still a bit confused about this TurboUSB nonsense! Can't quite workout how it's supposed to work! Any ideas on that?
EDIT - I RTFM after looking harder for it, and found in device manager that it is enabled ebcause of the (TurboUSB) added to the end of the drive name!
Ideal. Sorted now I hope, thanks very much for your kind help davo!! Much appreciated.
