Title: Buffalo MiniStation Lite HD-PEU2 320G - Using a USB Y-Cable - Is it Possible?

Good day. I would like to ask if its ok to use a USB Y cable like the one we use for portable external DVD drives on a Buffalo Ministation Lite 320G - HDPEU2 in case a laptop cannot supply enough power to turn it on?

 

Will it damage the Buffalo MiniStation Lite?

The laptop should supply enough power and I wouldn't recommend using the Y-cable.
