Hi , please don't hate me if this has been covered / answered before , but search yielded no real hits :)

I Have a HS D300GL Linkstation Home Server.

All was well , then FTP started flaking out.   I ( ohh how i wish I didnt ) tried a firmware update in an attempt  to get FTP working / more stable again.

Looks like the firmware failed.

So , now I have a LS which does not boot and only gives me the nice 5 flashes of the red light.

Holding down INIT whilst powering on and it looks like it is in EM mode (  Power , Diag , Disk full all flashing ) BUT I cannot connect to it via the NIC.  No ping , no connection on NAVI etc.

So is it FUBAR'd or is there anything else I can do?

Its possible, it def. sounds like it isn't booting.  All that you can try is our TFTP procedure.  Did you get any error messages while updating?

We are having the same problem with our HS-D300GL.

We originally bricked the device when we installed a firmware update. We then found some solutions to the problem on these forums, and removed the partitions, returning it to emergency mode. We then found the firmware update and couldn't get it to work. After reading another forum article we realised that we needed to run the updater in compatibility mode and got the firmware update to start. 

At the end of the update, we got the error message saying that the firmware update had failed .

After that we turn the device on and the DIAG light flashes 5 times and it turns off again, and when we turn it on holding the INIT button down, we can't ping it, which we could before.

If anyone has any ideas on how to resolve the issue and get the NAS back up and working, we would be most grateful.
