Title: LS520D will not start up, possibly corrupt firmware?
Post by: trevorpogo on January 07, 2025, 01:55:11 PM
Since the weekend (last time I know I accessed it was Friday night) my LS520D NAS has been unusable.

It's plugged into my router and the router does not see anything connected to it in that port.

The power light is white but very faint, I found some results googling that suggest this might mean the firmware is corrupted and it can't complete start up?

I read the manual and it said resetting by pressing the button on the back would not delete my data if it's not in username folders, which it isn't, so I tried doing that, held the button down and turned it off and on and the light blinked amber for a while but then went back to faint white. No change, still not showing as connected to the router.

Is there anything else I can do or is it just bricked now?? Nothing happened to trigger this.

One thing that could possibly have caused a problem is it was running pretty low on space last time I checked. Could this cause this problem? The trashbox probably has a lot in it so if there was anyway to get that to empty that might solve it if that is the issue, but obviously since I can't get it to start up properly I can't do that.
