Title: Directory/File rights
Post by: texmansru47 on September 02, 2024, 09:41:27 AM
All,

When I first setup my Buffalo Drive (LS210D) I have a share that I have in R/W mode for all the users on my network.  When I first setup the share from my Linux (Ubuntu) laptop I was able to see the data and share data back and forth.  However, I tried that today after a reboot and I get the share to come up BUT I can only see the data on the drive I can no longer add data to it.  I am not sure what is going on.  The only change was my OS was updated to the latest version, but that should not have created this issue.

Seriously I have been in IT for over 30 years and this is a first.  Rights just don't change like that.  So I am overlooking something OR there is a firmware or software issue with the Drive or laptop.  Regardless, this is very frustrating.  I honestly believe I am just overlooking something, but I cannot for the life of me figure it out.

UGH!

Any ideas are welcome!

Hi there, IF you have done a so-called "hard restart" of the nas it may have gone back to a default setting where perhaps the users don't have R/W access. Only the admin logon would have that.
just an idea!! cheers CD
