Title: Trying to decide on a NAS
Post by: frankieve on March 30, 2010, 05:42:27 PM

I just ordered an iMac with a 2TB drive. I wanted to see what can do these points

1) Storage and back-up of my pics, songs, videos

2) view them remotely and via my xbox360

Should I even bother with Time Machine, or do it all through the NAS

Thanks

Current LinkStations come with Memeo backup software and support Time Machine.

You can virtually satisfy your 1st request with any LinkStation model.

All current LinkStation models has "WebAccess" feature which allows you to access to your NAS via Internet.

If I remember correctly, none of Buffalo NAS officially support Xbox360. But, LinkStation has DLNA server.

You should be able to access to LinkStation from Xbox.

I personally recommends LS-XHL. It is very fast and has rich features. But, if you store very important data,

better to prepare a backup drive since it does not support RAID.
