Title: HD-PX500U2 purchased USA from Dell, says SN is invalid?
Post by: mwalker208 on March 29, 2010, 06:50:17 PM

Ok, I plug it in and it freezes my XP system when I try to access the drive. I tried to download the software, but it says my unit has an invalid SN. I need the software! Also, if the SN is invalid, does that mean I am beat on a warranty? This is my 1st Buffalo product I have bought, and it's also my 1st external HD I have ever used; so far, it's not a very good experience... Was really expecting some plug and play...

What site are you downloading the software from?  Serial numbers are region specific so make sure you are at your local site (you can click on the map in the upper right hand corner).  Are you using a dektop or a laptop?
