I noticed a couple of days ago that in the daily email status from my LS-1000GL that the statuses of the drive was empty. I was able to access the drive and adminstrative functions via web browser just fine. I decided to reboot from the web interface today and haven't been able to access the drive since. Initially it was taking forever to boot and the first couple times I was getting what I now know was a beep code but didn't realize it at the time so I don't remember what the code was. I cold powered down and it came back up with no beep code but still no access. The NAS Navigator indicates it is in the EM mode.
I access the NAS using Windows XP and SMB file sharing. The NAS gets the IP address via DHCP but I have my router setup to assign the IP based on MAC address (static DHCP).
I can ping the NAS and it looks like port 21 is open but I can't login using ftp. I am thinking the next step is to try to update the firmware using lsupdater. It looks like the latst firmware is 1.15. Can someone please advise if the next most reasonable step is to update (or force update if neccessary) my NAS to 1.15 for the Linkstation Pro? If not please advise what would be the next thing for me to try.
Thanks
I would recommend updating the firmware. The most recent version for that model is 1.15
I reflashed the firmware and it is working again. I'm just a little unsettled that this happened in the first place. I guess I'll be keeping a close eye on it for a while.
Thanks again!
It looks like the firmware got corrupted.
