Title: Another Twonky Issue?
Post by: Unhappy09 on March 26, 2010, 05:34:25 PM

Ok, so let me explain what I am trying do first and then I will explain the problem I am having.

-I have converted all my legit-owned dvds to mpeg4 format so I can store them on a LS live. I am using the internal Twonky Media Server program to stream these mp4 files to my Xbox 360. It is working fine except for of course the info and the album artwork. I have used a program called MetaX to add all the meta date and tag information in including Parental Control Ratings. (G, R, PG13, PG). When I see the movies on itunes its sees the rating and will control what is watched on the computer depending on the ratings, so I know the ratings have been encoded correctly.

Problem: When I set the parental controls on the Xbox it will not let me play any of the videos, wether they have a G rating or R rating, or even no ratings at all. I have set the Xbox to not allow explicit or unrated videos to play and nothing! If I put any kind of parental control on the Xbox it will ask me for the passcode before it plays any movie, including cartoons.

Could it be that the Twonky software does not allow parental codes to be seen? Any ideas?

It's most likely that the linkstation is not keeping the meta data when you transfer the files. From what I've seen theres no way arround this problem.
