Title: LS-CHL-V2340 is not being detected by PS3 as a media server
Post by: hei8ht on March 24, 2010, 03:54:01 PM

I received a new Linkstation live LS-CHL-V2340 firmware version 1.24 and Version 4.4.19_e2.

My PS3 is at version 3.15. I have tried a wired connection as well but hasnt helped. The PS3 seems to detect the TVersity media server installed on my laptop.

I am on a O2 broadband with a O2 router.

Connected it to the router and set it up as per instructions. I am able to access the files from my laptop but my PS3 is not detecting the media server wirelessly.

I have enabled media server and have set it to the 'share' folder but no luck. I have tried restarting ps3 and the NAS couple of times but still its unable to detect. Do i have to do something around users and groups?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have tried quite a few combinations and I am now thinking of returning it back.

When you have it accessing the share, get specific. For example instead of putting, " 'ip address'/"share" try using, " 'ip address'/"share"/"music" this works for my PS3.
