Title: Re-Flash Firmware?
Post by: clutch on November 13, 2022, 11:58:57 AM
Is it possible to re-flash the firmware on my Linkstation LS210?  It has the latest BIOS now, but I feel it may have developed an error possibly.  Everything works as normal, but it refuses to start a backup.  It has been working fine for a couple years, but suddenly it quit doing scheduled backups to a usb drive.  I've tried several drives, formatted in Settings, and even tried an immediate backup.  Nothing happens.  It always says "Standing by".

very few visitors, i posted for my problem and then solved it and posted my answer :)

This post helped a lot - i think the later stages of this could apply to you

if you are happy to wipe the nas entirely, you could wipe the drives and reinstall the firmware that way since it is stored onthe hard drives - maybe there is a better option though?
or run LSupdater 1.78 in debug mode and rebuild the partitions with these options?

i'm not an expert i just like to tinker so those are my thoughts

Thank you for your reply.  Yes, I will look into those options. As a last resort I will dump this NAS and check out better ones.  Thanks again.
