Post by: praetorian31 on March 22, 2010, 02:43:15 PM

Running AD on a 2008 box. We are currently using a TS-HTGL/R5 Pro II and I have been able to join it to the domain but I'm looking for a "how to" article for creating share and giving permission to the share. I'm sort of new at this I would appreciated if anyone can point me in the right direction. Once the TS is join to the domain I cant browse to the main repository ex. \\terastation. but I can can view the management console via the browser. Please help!!

To create a share you would go to the SHARED FOLDERS tab and click to add a folder. Under the shared folder setup for that share you would enable access restrictions. You would then see your groups and users appear beneath the Groups/Users portion. Just select the group or user you want to have permission and click the arrow to add them to the read portion then click the next arrow to add them to the read/write portion.

Also, your best option for accessing this device would be directly by IP rather than rely on network name resolution.
