Title: LS-750GL - problems attaching a 2TB Seagate Drive
Post by: smithgt on March 19, 2010, 07:34:01 PM

I've a 2TB USB Seagate Drive that I want to connect to the back of my Link Station. I've already connected another Buffalo External 1TB drive, but I now need more space.

The 2TB drive was formatted as NTFS, so as I'd read that the drive needs to be Fat32 to be deteched I created a small 12gb partition on the drive and formatted that at FAT32. I've also turned off the Power Saving using the SG software.

However the drive is still not detected but the LinkStation.

I've tried both USB ports, and connecting just the SG drive, but it never gets detected in the Web menu.

Can anyone help?

thanks

The device needs to be formatted to xfs to be able to use it with the buffalo nas.

Do you know if there is a way to do this under W7?

On another PC I have XP and Partition Magic, but that only offers EXT2

thanks

Once the drive is attached to the Linkstation you can format it in the admin page, Disk management => Disk Format.

The problem I has is that the Linkstation never sees that the 2TB Seagate is attached. I've tried formatting the drive as EXT2 and EXT3 but it still doesnt appear on the LS web control panel to be formatted etc.
