Today I was copying a file from the NAS to my pc then I heard a loud clicking sound from the nas and then lots of mail like that:

 

DISK Error Notification

HDD error occurred
Disk(s) the error occurred:Disk 1

(sda) READ sector:1639881905 count:5
Disk writing error
RAID drive error will be repaired automatically.
Continuous backup is recommended.

after that the nas was in the list of the network devices but couldn't access any file.

Tried to unplug and plug AC and now no more nas..

tried EM mode, only a flashing light never getting solid, tried tftp, no signs..

There is any way to try to recover datas, without opening the device (to avoid void warranty) ?

 

How can I contact buffalo assistence? I'm from Italy..

the device is in xfs file format, I would recommend contacting drive savers or ess data recovery. 

Data recovery services are not needed. Dismantle the drive enclosure extract the disk and run a linux based system like ubuntu from a flash drive. that will read xfs formatted drives. it will also read ext2 ext3 and fat file systems. Unless the drive is totally dead. then and only then should you consider the expensive route of a data recovery service.
Alternatively there are programs that will read other none windows based file systems but these cost. Not as much as a data recovery service though.

I have read disks in these formats using the above but mostly ext3.
