Title: questions about add Terastation into AD?
Post by: imac403 on March 16, 2010, 03:33:08 AM

I have several questions for this.

1) can I use AD server that is not at same subnet with NAS

2) it ask for AD administrator and password, will it be saved in NAS? Is there any impact if I change the password?

3) if it is joined in AD, will it auto download user information? Is there any user number limitatioin?

please help, thanks

1. No

2.  If you change the password it cannot authenticate with the sever anymore so you will loss the users and groups.

3. Yes, 1000 users

You can manually create the user in Username Management on the GUI of the Terastation, if you have a TS III (TS-XL) then it should be able to handle upto 5,000 users if your using the latest firmware.
