Title: Linkstaion pro duo with only one drive
Post by: IIIkGT on March 13, 2010, 08:00:02 AM
Hi, I just bought a Por Duo with out drives and I'm wondering if it is possible to use the linkstation with only one drive? I'm having some difficulties with updating firmware and getting the drive out of EM-mode and I'm thinking it is because i only use one drive. When I run the LSupdater, i dont gett the formating working, i click ok and nothing happens. I have a crappy Vietnamese version and I would also apprciate if some one can point me to a english version of LSupdater I alos wanted to check the guide for forced firmware update but there seem to be some problems with the thread. Hoping for some help. Thank you! /Tomas

Depending on the model, First thing I would do is make sure you got the right firmware.   If it has one usb port then it needs fw 1.09, if it has 2 usb ports then it is a 3.10.  And also use the device with two of the same drives.

Hello,

Can i clarify that the Buffalo Linkstation Pro Duo can function with only one hard drive installed...? I have bought one that came without hard drive and thinking of installing a 1TB Drive initially and expanding in the future.. Is this possible?
