Title: TS-HGTL 4TB on raid 10 wont boot
Post by: Nytealien on March 12, 2010, 12:04:39 AM

How it started, I needed to shut down the unit to move it to another shelf, so I started the shut down procedure and came back 6 hours later and it was still trying to shut down so I forced the shut down. I attempted to restart and it gave me a E04 unable to load Kernel. I swapped the drives between another one of my boxes with the same model number, the problem box booted up with the drives from the good unit but the box that i put the drives from the bad unit failed to boot, but this time it had no kernel error, it just went to the system booting screen. and the number 1 drive continues to flash and occasionally all the drive lights will flash. So i updated the firmware on the original problem box and put the problem drives back in it  and same thing again, just sits at the boot screen, i have also attempted to do the tftp boot several times with no prevail, and yes i followed all the steps, the firewall my antivirus and changed the IP. any ideas just an FYI, i am running a raid 1+0

with raid 10 see if you can remove 1 or 2 of the failed drives and see if it is able to boot up.  Could be a bad disk.

I have tried every combination of the drives, in 2 different units, it stil just hangs on the boot screen. Anyone got anything else to try?
