Title: Replacing Drive in a TerraStation
Post by: Alric on March 08, 2010, 08:30:33 PM

I inherited a terrastation from a friend who replaced it when one of the drives failed.

It is a TerraStation HD-H1.0TGL/R5

The drive has no useful info on it so preserving the data is not a concern.

Do all the drives have to be the same size? I was hoping to use a 160GB drive I had sitting around. I connected the drive but the TerraStation doesn't detect it. The web interface says Drive 1 not installed.

If you set to RAID5 you need to same size HDD.

New HDD not need to format and partition.
