I am getting the following report log during backups:

rsync: mkdir "/_backups" (in array1_Metrics) failed: Unknown error 990 (990)
rsync error: error in file IO (code 11) at main.c(509) [receiver=2.6.8]
rsync: connection unexpectedly closed (4 bytes received so far) [sender]
rsync error: error in rsync protocol data stream (code 12) at io.c(463) [sender=2.6.8]

This is going from one LS-WTGL/R1-V3 F/W 3.10 to another through a VPN, both are on static IPs behind subnets and can see each others' folders.

Any information would be helpful, thanks!

As a test, I tried manually moving files over, and got an I/O device error...

put both devices on the same network (local) and see if you have any issues. If you don't then its configuration of the network on either side.

I see your point, but i'm 99% sure thats not the problem... with most jobs the backup will start, get about half way done writing files successfully, and then start with the rsync errors (according to log files). And in the backup job screen one can see all of the others folders that I have set up...

What is an rsync error? Any ideas assuming the network isn't the issue?

I will, however, put them on the same network to test and get back with you... gotta drive across town to do so (dang it!)

I put both devices next to each other on the same LAN: one is 10.0.1.2, the other 10.0.1.3

Same errors with 6 test files...
