Title: Buffalo Terastation TS1400D HDD Upgrade
Post by: cdfriesen on October 11, 2022, 03:42:11 PM
I have a Terastation TS1400D, currently has 4x4TB drives. 2 drives failed, so I want to upgrade to 4x6TB drives. The chart listing drives for this NAS doesn't list 6TB drives for the TS1400D. Does that mean this unit will not work with 6TB drives?
It is out of warranty, so I am not concerned about it being "supported."

There's a 16TB volume limit that applies. So using all the drives in an 18TB RAID5 wouldn't work but you could make a 12TB RAID10 etc.

Thanks, that's kind of what I thought.
I may just scrap it and build a new TrueNAS.
