Title: Linkstation DUO NAS 2TB Xbox360 Streaming Issues
Post by: heimie2000 on March 03, 2010, 03:56:24 AM

Hi there,

I have a brand new Buffalo Linkstation DUO LS-WX2.0TL up and running with firmware 1.22. Everything works great, iTunes works like charm and even my Xbox360 shows me the Linkstation and i can browse through the video titles and watch image slideshows.

But everytime I try to watch a video I get an error: 69-C00D36FB

When I try to listen to music it says that the computer is turned off.

I googled for the errorcode and found out about a problem with twonky media server versions 5.xx. 4.4.x versions are reported to be running fine. Does any of you guys have a solution for that?

There is a new firmware out (1.24) but the changelog does not mention changes on the media server.

Or is the a way to downgrade only the mediaserver on my Linkstation?

Thanks in advance for any solution or idea.

Cheers!

Unfortunately we do not support the use of this product wit Xbox as XBox is not a DLNA certified device.  Also there isn't a way to update (or downgrade) twonky itself, as far as I know.  Any twonky updates will happen through firmware updates but I don't think the 1.24 has an update for twonky.

Hello all,

I have my linkstation duo set up as RAID 1, and I have set up shared folders named videos, music, and photos.  My xbox 360 recognizes this network drive instantly.

The problem is when I go to

dashboard>my xbox>my videos>linkstation

There appears to be no files there.  Same deal for photos and music.

Can anyone help on this?

Thanks in advance.

I'm having a similar issue with the Linkstation Pro and the XBOX360. However, I am able to stream videos from the Linkstation on the XBOX, but not music at all. If you're sticking with the DLNA compatability issue, then why is it video works, but music doesn't?

Luck?  Honestly, if you go to www.dlna.org you will see our devices are DLNA compliant.  The only video game system that is would be the PS3.  It's not a matter of "sticking" with a compatibility issue if the device isn't certified in the first place.

Whilst I appreciate all the comments regarding the XBOX not being DLNA compliant etc - the Buffalo Website and product blurb specifically states that you can stream from your Linkstation et al to an XBOX.

If the machine is not able to do it then you are falsely advertising one of the fundamental uses of the device and I for one would not have purchased one if I had know the truth.

Could you (Buffalo) therefore find a solution to the XBOX media streaming issue...?

Many thanks

How about a link?  Which region?  Did you read PCPiranhas post previously in this thread?  Furthermore, we're not UK support.  DLNA compliance is pretty much key with a media server function working et al and if anyone needs to come up with a fix it would be Microsoft in getting their console DLNA certified.  If we are falsely advertising I would need to be pointed in that direction with some proof so that it may be addressed accordingly by your region.

Edit:

No I think our UK associates do.  We're US/Canada tech support.  I'll forward the information to them but we don't support it I'm afraid.
