Title: Terastation 3 basic setup question
Post by: studio121 on February 27, 2010, 08:24:21 AM

Background/Our use:  350GB of information on our TS3.  Largest individual file approx 500MB.  TS is setup as a Raid 5.

We need to backup the TS to an external (usb) devices.  We will rotate 2 externals, so we have a copy off business grounds in case of fire or other event.

Question 1: External device should be set up as XFS or FAT32?  (my understanding is linux software is not easily accessible)  Part 2:  if something should happen, what would it take to get me up and running again?

Question 2:  How should I schedule my Backups?  (suggested by customer support...First "Overwrite Backup, complete/differential" and then Daily "Overwrite Backup, differential"   So what would it take to get my file information should something happen to my TS3.

Question 3:  Does anyone use the Memeo?  Memeo vs. TS Backup, why the option?

Thank you in advance...

1.) a.)xfs b.) Plug into into a linux os like ubuntu.

2.) "Overwrite Backup, differential

3.) Some people use memeo on one xp,vista,win7 machine to backup to the buffalo.  For corporate level I wouldn't recommend it.
