Title: HD-CELU2 Faulty USB port and LAN password protected !
Post by: exxens on February 22, 2010, 07:55:23 AM

System Informatio

Host Name:  BUF
Model Name:  HD-CELU2
Firmware Version: BUF-CELU2-1.4.7 LOADER 3.5W1.9
Windows Network:  Workgroup Name WORKGROUP
Current Date and time :  2008/01/01 00:13:36 GMT3

Problem description

USB port is not working anymore , so I am trying to access my data over LAN.
It keeps prompting me for a username and password, I've done  a  Manufacturer rest.

I tried leaving the password on Web Configuration Page as blank , didn't work , tried creating a password , didn't work , File Sharing Protection is already disabled , but when I try to enable it I get an error msg says : Error in this page . and no changes happens , it stays on disabled.

Can  I try to remove the harddisk itself and connect it directly to my PC's mother board ?!

Did you format the unit into NTFS?

I have exactly the same problem.   If you've already fixed it,  appreciate your help how to fix it.

Then answer the question: Did you format in NTFS?

Not sure, but everything was fine for several months, both USB and LAN then all of a sudden password, and not recognized by USB problems. Thanks

It's being recognized via LAN but asking for a user/pass (which of course this device doesn't have access restriction capability) and the USB port when plugged in Windows states: "USB device not recognized", correct?  If you're not sure which format you put it in and the partition doesn't show up in Disk Management (due to possible USB failure) you might have a defect on your hands.  Does it work on any other PC?

Doesn't work anywhere, doesn't even show up on computer through USB. Nothing, like if it was not connected. Thanks,
