Somehow I lost the share folder. I am running Windows 7. I also have a Windows XP laptop that shows the exact symptoms.
I am able to ping the NAS and I have access to the info file np. Windows explorer shows both 'info" and "share" folders, but when I click on the "share" folder I get this error: "Windows cannot access \\LS-WTGL48D\share" with error code: 0x8007043 and some other times 0x8007035. Through the web access the Shared Folders is all grayed out. I cannot change or add anything. I can only change the Service Setup. I reset the Linkstation to the Factory Defaults. I also tried to update the firmware but the installation errors out with "LW-WTGL/R1-V3 that needs updating wasn't found". Also what worries me is that the NASNavigator2 reports HDD (RAID0) Unformatted.
I also enabled FTP service and ftp into the NAS. This is what I found in there:
ftp> dir
200 PORT command successful
150 Opening ASCII mode data connection for file list
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 18 Oct 10 01:27 array1
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 21 Jul 17 2009 info
226 Transfer complete.
ftp: 124 bytes received in 0.01Seconds 20.67Kbytes/sec.
I don't like what I see that way either.
Short of formatting the drive, is there a solution.
It looks like file corruption. Which version of firmware were you using? You can try the Force Firmare in the 2nd FAQ. Its unlikely its the firmware.
Here my info:
I just found this info. Does this apply to my Linkstation pro duo as well?

If yes, then I upgraded to a wrong firmware. Could I force downgrade the firmware to ver. 1.X?
Thank you.
