Do you get an error message when trying to access the file?  It may be file corruption.

Thanks for your responce, there was no error message while I access to the drive.

The folders missing issue was notice because I remember that some folder name on the drive and explorer 298GB was used in the drive but when I check it with the properties option, it shown that 306GB was used and when I use the search function of Vista to look for the file/folder they was still there but I can't access to the files/folder.

I did try to recover the file using Active@ File recovery, I was able to recover the file, but the process was painful, hope you can advice on other option.

Thanks.

Problem solved!

The problem was caused by Vista Indexer!

Thanks!
