Title: Terastation Pro II - TS-RHTGL/R5 - Larger hard drives?
Post by: ckidd on February 17, 2010, 10:00:49 PM

I have a rackmount Terastation Pro II, Model: TS-RHTGL/R5

Firmware: 1.33

Has anyone successfully upgraded this unit from the 4 x 1TB drives to 4 x 2 TB drives?

If so, what model drives did you use?

Thanks - ck

The largest that we have tested here is 4 X 1.5 TB drives.  The model shouldn't matter.

I ordered (4) 2TB drives for another NAS I'm building and decided to test them in the Terastation Pro II.  I replaced all 4 drives, unit went into EM mode as expected.  I used the TFTP boot procedure to get the unit working.  I left the drives in the Terastation for a week with no issues.  I used Hitachi drives similar to the 1 TB drives that shipped in the unit.

Hello ckidd. Does your Terastation Pro II recognize the full 2 TB capacity of the Hitachi drives or only 1.5 TB?
