Post by: cyberskidz on February 17, 2010, 01:02:08 PM

Hi all i have bought one of these linkstations from e-bay ...1st mistake....it was described as brand new in box ..but thats a whole other story !! The problem is i have the 6 red lights flashing...I have tried the tftp boot procedure it looks like the files are being served then it just hangs about not doing anything..have tried searching for the linkstation with HDLAN program ...cant find it tried the LSU updater...cant find it ...have had it connected to my network also through direct connection and through crossover cable too...Have stripped out the hard drive and booted up a knoppix pc with the drive attached....cant find it either..!!! am at my wits end here ...

PS am using the 198.168.11.X ip on my nic have tried both XP desktop and Vista 32 laptop

Any help to a relative newbie to networking would be most appreciated

"I have tried the tftp boot procedure it looks like the files are being served then it just hangs about not doing anything..have tried searching for the linkstation with HDLAN program ...cant find it tried the LSU updater"

Try disabling all of the firewalls on your computer.  Make sure the unit is directly connected to your NIC, when it pulls the files it boots so it will show up in the NASNAVI.

Make sure that you are using 11.1 or it won't work (it will only listen properly on .1)

Hi,

I am asked by a site admin about the "user agent" of the torrent client.

Can someone help about it?

What do you need to know about it.

I am speaking with somebody who is a site admin in order to allow my linkstation bittorent client to work on their tracker; I already gave him the peer id but now they are asking for this "user agent"

thanks
