Title: DriveStation 1TB USB/NAS LAN permissions?
Post by: wari on February 16, 2010, 05:55:01 AM

Hi all,

Have just brought the subjected NAS and quickly found out you can't have NTFS and the LAN capability working together, luckily I don't have >4GB files (apart from images) so FAT32 is fine.

What I cannot get my head around is the permissions when in LAN mode. I understand the drive in LAN mode needs the \\IP\Share folder but within this folder is my data which I only want my network users having read-only access.

I have been on the web consol and installed the file security tool, but that makes the drive inaccessible, any ideas?

My question to you all is - can I set any permissions i.e. read-only on my data when in LAN mode?

Thanks for your help
