Title: Using USB2.0 External Hard Disk Drive with Windows 7 Professional 2009
Post by: rogerjwarner on February 15, 2010, 11:49:11 AM

I am trying to use my Buffalo Hard Drive with my NEW desktop computer.

However, when I load the Buffalo Drive Station Navigator, it states that "software has known incompatibility with IIS services on this platform."

Do I need a new Buffalo software or what?

With windows 7 there is no specific software that is needed for most models to work.  If it is a drive with the cdfs partition (you can find that out by right clicking on computer and go to manage-then disk management) and if you have windows 7 64bit then to set up the security on the drive you will need to set that up on a 32bit os then use it on your 64bit os.

I have read the reply, however as a nofice, I do not know what you are talking about.

I have 64 Bit operating system but when i go to disk mgt as you suggested I do not see anything that states 64 bit etc.

As you know windows 7 has a system for back up but you need the hard disk drive to do that.

So, here I am again not knowing what to do.
