Title: Horrible Burn Times using Nero
Post by: jwishy on February 10, 2010, 08:12:27 PM

So I moved all of my downloads to the linkstation, well actually I have my downloads set to a folder on the linkstation. It is just that now it takes a very long time to burn DVDs and I my success rate is less then 50% since I made this move. Is this normal, is there anything i can do to increase the reliability of the burn and shorten the burn time? I think these problems might have to do with my cpus memory and cache cpabilities but I could be wrong.

Thanks

Depending on the specs of your network, and your pc that you are using to burn.  When it comes to burning a file the best idea would be to have the file local on that specific pc for a few reasons: Less chance of corruption, Speed of the burn, Limiting your variables on your network to make sure the burn goes through.

Kameran is correct... especially if the DVD burner is trying to write at a high speed (8X or higher). The solution is "Don't burn a file that is on a network drive.:" Copy the file to the local hard drive on the computer first, then burn it.
