Title: Transfer Speed Drop when moving many little files as opposed to fewer large files.
Post by: jdennis on February 10, 2010, 09:47:20 AM

I have the TeraStation TS-X4.0TL/R5 and we are experiencing extremely slow read/write speeds bases on the number of files in a folder instead of overall folder size.

Example:

I can transfer a folder with 150 file/360mb faster than I can transfer a folder that contains 1200 files/24mb. Has anyone else ran into this before?

Problem Solved!

Instead of connecting to my drives via AFP I connected via SMB and now browsing, transferring and moving files around is as fast as it should be.
