Title: Can the Terastation NAS spin down when idling?
Post by: ivan4th on September 23, 2008, 06:37:53 PM
I often shut the NAS down when not used frequently.  Does anyone know if the drives can be made to automatically spin down/shut down when not used for a certain amount of time?  If this cannot be setup within the Terastation itself, is there a possibility the Terastation could be controlled externally from a script/command program?

This is a feature that is being looked into by the firmware writers, however at this time on your unit it is not possible.

Paul, thanks for the answer.  At least I know for sure now.
