Title: accessing Linkstation Live through DOS batch file on Win XP
Post by: superbuf2 on February 09, 2010, 04:35:30 PM

My OS is Win XP

My Linkistation is NAS1000

My folder is DAILY

the Storage Forum seems to indicate to use in my MS-DOS batch file this

NET USE J: \\NAS1000\DAILY\
robocopy J: X:\daily /MIR /E /NFL /NDL /NS /NP /NC /NJH /NJS

I always get this error message # 3 "the system can not find the specified path" and points to the path \\NAS1000\DAILY

If I then use IE explorer to view my J drive i.e. \\NAS1000\DAILY   then I run my MS-DOS batch file, everything works.

;would adding a PING to my batch file do the same as using IE Explorer to " wake up " my connection to my Drivestation-live ?

ping my my ip address + submask ?

OR ping my MAC address ?

OR ping my gateway address ?

Try specifying the IP address of the NAS instead of the hostname, for example \\192.168.11.150\DAILY

used IP address eg

robocopy "\\192.168.0.102\OTHER\Doug notes" "X:\other files\Doug notes" /MIR /E /NFL /NDL /NS /NP /NC /NJH /NJS

thank you

this worked for about 2 days, now same error  "path not found"

checked that ip address had not changed,  no it did not change

did a refresh of the LS-CHL linkstation connection, did not help

I have not done an init of my LS-CHL

I have not done a firmware update of LS-CHL

my router is D-Link, my hub is SMC
