Title: Thumb Flash Drive
Post by: sufferingcubsfan on July 12, 2022, 05:59:06 PM
My LS-WXL is down with a flashing red light.  We went through support, but they gave up and referred me to data recovery which is unaffordable.  We pulled the drives and placed one in a frame to see if we could read it, the FAT is gone so as we try to recover it's just files that we have to guess at; are the files Word files, Excel, TurboTax, pdf, pictures, etc.  A Terabyte of data to sift through.  We can't even get the network to see the device so that we can talk to it so we think it's not using its own ethernet connection.

We have an idea to make a USB flash drive.  Use it to get the NAS running with a new drive.  Power down and insert one of the two old drives and see if we get lucky.

Does anyone know how we could make a USB flash drive for this device?

your help is appreciated
