Title: Rsync
Post by: rohded on June 21, 2022, 01:38:32 PM

When did Buffalo add Rsync to the list of services?   It is not in the Terrastation III even in latest firmware.

I've noticed that some models do and some don't. I don't know if there's a pattern regarding which models do or don't support  it.

I use the rsync protocol a lot for backups since it's the fastest way I'm familiar with to synchronize a lot of files across hosts (at least compared to rsync over smb/nfs/etc).

If you switch to Debian rather than the stock firmware it's fairly easy to set up if you have some linux experience.

Only recent TeraStation models have the rsync option.
